For over 20 years, I’ve made my ‘ribbon-candy-and-shoelaces’ money in video production and cable television programming as a freelance producer, writer, content developer, director and editor [but don’t tell anyone I was an editor because eeeww]. I also have been repeatedly tapped as a casting agent because I have Mexican, Black, and fetish-model friends, which turned out to be a legitimate way to generate revenue. Had I known earlier, I would’ve befriended some Pacific Islanders as well.
My work has ranged from broadcast commercials and [shudder] branded content to [gag] live events and long-form documentaries. There’s nothing I can’t ruin, if I set my mind to it.
Microsoft, The GAP, BSkyB, Boba, SunEdison, VeloNews, Colorado Lottery and countless other super-important clients have enjoyed the comfort and safety of my shepherding their projects until they are ready to be released into the wild. Or basic cable or whatever.
Additionally, I’m proud to have been a Mentor at the AIF Interactive TV Conference, on the Board of Directors for the Open Media Foundation, host of PBS’ Sounds on 29th, Lucha Libre promoter, and devoted husband [2006-2007].
